What We Believe

We believe the Bible, as originally given, is without error, and is the inspired Word of God and the supreme and final authority in every area of life.

We believe that God exists co-equally and co-eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit and that these three are one God, sovereign in creation, providence and redemption.

We believe Jesus is the son of God, who was a human being who entered this world through a virgin birth, that he lived a sinless life, teaching people how to live, that he took our place on the cross and shed his blood for our sins and resurrected from the dead for all to see, and is now sitting at the right hand of God the Father where he is interceding for his church and is waiting to come back to receive his church.

We believe in the divinity of the Holy Spirit who comes from Father and the Son and the necessity of His work in convicting mankind of sin, leading mankind to repentance, and in the renewal of our life to live a life pleasing to God, and that the believer is also promised an empowering of the Holy Spirit as the gift of Christ through the baptism in the Holy Spirit with signs following. Through this, the believer is empowered for fuller participation in the ministry of the Church, its worship, evangelism and service.

We believe that man was created in the image of God, but by voluntary disobedience man fell from perfection. As a result, mankind is sinful and is separated from God.

We believe salvation is necessary to enter Heaven and to be reunited with God. Salvation comes by repentance towards God and believing in Jesus by which the sinner is forgiven and declared not guilty in God’s sight. There is nothing we can do to earn salvation or God’s love as it is a free gift from God. We are declared not guilty by the grace of God because of the atoning work of Jesus on the cross, is received by faith alone and is evidenced by the Fruit of the Spirit such as love and a lifestyle that is pleasing to God.

We believe in the spiritual unity and the priesthood of all believers in Christ and these comprise the universal Church, the Body of Christ.

We believe in the ministries that Christ has set in His Church, namely, apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, and in the present operation of the various Gifts of the Holy Spirit according to the New Testament.

We believe in the baptism of believers by immersed in water in obedience to the command of Christ and in the commemoration of Christ’s death by the observance of Communion until His return.

We believe that the gospel embraces the needs of the whole man and that the Church is therefore commissioned to preach the gospel to the world and to fulfil a ministry of healing and deliverance to the spiritual and physical needs of mankind.

We believe in the personal, physical and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to reign in power and glory.

We believe in the resurrection of the dead and in the final judgement of the world, the eternal conscious bliss of those who made Jesus their saviour and the eternal conscious punishment of those who deny Jesus as their saviour.
