This song was inspired at our last worship jam session, the title was a line that came up as we were playing around with another song and I liked it. But with wasn’t till I was reading the first chapter of Colossians that I was taken with the imagery of this universal God who has formed all that is, holds everything together and yet came in humanity and poverty to invest in wounded and broken people, even to the point of people killed by those he came to save. Then of course it wouldn’t be comeplete without singing about his resurrection and our freedom. The chorus gains in repetition as the song progresses.
The Chords for this song are very simple, its written in Capo 1, though you can sing it easily in Capo 3 or 5. Its a loop of 4 chords for the whole song. Am not sure of the name of the chords but i shall try and describe them. Its a chord change for each of the first two lines and the change to the G is mid sentence on the third line.
Its D without the bottom finger, A7sus4, Em7 (though only the fingers on the A string/2nd fret and B string 3rd fret) and the bottom E string on the 3rd fret and the B string 3r fret (I guess thats some sort of G).
Your love knows no bounds Here is a video to show you how it sounds You are the image of The perfect likeness of You are the first born of all creation Through Him all was made Created everything Then this light came and dwelt amongst us Your love knows no bounds Healing, restoring souls Freedom from Satan's bonds Our messiah walks Salvation's here now Christ incarnate be Sent to redeem To those He called His own, we did reject Him Your love knows no bounds Your love knows no bounds Betrayed with a kiss Beaten near to death Not once did you cry out You took our shame Hung upon that tree Punishment born for me Spoke in Your last breath “Father, forgive them” Your love knows no bounds Your love knows no bounds Your love knows no bounds Those who followed in disarray In the ground Your body lay That tomb revealed our living hope It could not hold You Ascended and enthroned Death's grip has lost its hold We cry that this is true Christ lives forever Your love knows no bounds Your love knows no bounds Your love knows no bounds Your love knows no bounds
